This bicolor tourmaline necklace carries a genuine tourmaline that unites two colors in one crystal. At the top, the crystal shimmers in a soft peach to almost colorless, then turns into a strong pink toward the bottom. Color changes like this happen when the composition of the solution around the crystal shifts while it grows. The fine grooves along the sides are typical of tourmaline, and with a Mohs hardness of 7 to 7.5, the stone is hard enough for everyday wear.
I wrap every crystal by hand, one at a time, using 14K gold-filled wire. A twisted frame holds the stone securely, and a curved line runs across it. 14K gold-filled is a thick, firmly bonded layer of gold that keeps its warm tone for years, unlike wafer-thin gold plating. You can add a fine Venetian chain in 14K gold-filled in 45 cm (17.7 in) or 40 cm (15.7 in), or take the pendant on its own.
In every bicolor tourmaline the colors sit differently, and no wrap turns out the same twice. That's why this tourmaline necklace exists exactly once. Once it's sold, it's gone. By tradition, bicolor tourmaline is considered a stone of balance that brings opposites together. A beautiful symbol for two people who belong together.
The pendant and chain are water-resistant. To keep the shine for a long time, take the necklace off before swimming in salt water or chlorinated water, and keep perfume, lotions and harsh cleaners away from it. Ultrasonic cleaners and high heat are not good for tourmaline. Store the necklace dry and apart from your other jewelry so the crystal doesn't take any hard knocks.
The solution around the crystal changed as it grew, which is why its color shifts from peach to pink.
The fine lengthwise grooves along the sides are typical of naturally grown tourmaline crystals.
Tourmaline is hard enough to wear every day.

Yes, this is a genuine tourmaline as a raw crystal, neither glass nor artificial stone. The two colors formed because the composition of the solution around the crystal changed while it was growing.
This pendant exists exactly once. Every crystal grows in its own shape and color, so I can't make it again. Once it's sold, there is no second one.
Yes, simply choose “Pendant only”. With the chain, you get a fine Venetian chain in 14K gold-filled that matches the gold wire, in 45 cm (17.7 in) or 40 cm (15.7 in).
Yes, the pendant and chain are water-resistant. Still, take the necklace off before swimming in the ocean or in chlorinated water and keep perfume and lotions away from it, so the stone and gold keep their shine for a long time.

I chose this bicolor tourmaline for its soft transition from peach to pink and wrapped it by hand with gold-filled wire in my studio in Oberhausen.
