The pendant on this cloud necklace is a small, fluffy cloud of 7.3 x 12 mm. It is made of synthetic opal, a stone made by people, not natural opal. Fine shimmers of color drift across its soft shape, as if the sun were just breaking through the cloud. In white, it looks as light as a summer cloud, and in lilac, like the sky at dusk. The chain runs sideways through the top of the cloud, so it floats horizontally in front of your collarbone. That's why it also stands out nicely under an open shirt collar.

Material and Craftsmanship

You can choose the chain in 925 sterling silver or 14K gold-filled. Sterling silver is 92.5 percent pure silver, and the rest is usually copper. With 14K gold-filled, a substantial layer of real gold encases a base metal, so the gold tone lasts even after long wear, unlike thin gold-plated jewelry.
