This pyrite necklace carries a genuine pyrite cube, just as nature shaped it. Pyrite often grows in almost perfect cubes, and the fine grooves on its faces are typical of it. Its metallic luster earned it the nickname fool's gold, because it is easy to mistake for real gold. The name itself comes from the Greek word for fire, since pyrite strikes sparks against steel. With a Mohs hardness of 6 to 6.5, it is firm but needs some protection from moisture.
I wrap every stone by hand, one at a time, using 14K gold-filled wire. A twisted frame holds the cube securely, and a curved line runs across it. 14K gold-filled is a thick, firmly bonded layer of gold that keeps its warm tone for years, unlike wafer-thin gold plating. You can add a fine Venetian chain in 14K gold-filled in 45 cm (17.7 in) or 40 cm (15.7 in), or take the pendant on its own.
No two pyrite cubes are alike, and no wrap turns out the same twice. That's why this pyrite necklace exists exactly once. Once it's sold, it's gone. By tradition, pyrite is considered a stone of prosperity and drive. A lovely gift for a new start at work or a project of your own.
The chain is water-resistant, but the pyrite itself doesn't do well with moisture and can tarnish over time. So take the necklace off before showering, swimming and sports, and dry it right away if it does get wet. Keep perfume, lotions and harsh cleaners away from it, and store the necklace dry and apart from your other jewelry. That way, the golden shine of the cube lasts for a long time.
Because of its golden luster, pyrite is also known as fool's gold.

Yes, this is genuine pyrite, neither glass nor plastic. Pyrite naturally grows in cubes, and the fine grooves on its faces are typical of it. Because of its shine, it is also called fool's gold.
This pendant exists exactly once. Every crystal grows in its own shape and color, so I can't make it again. Once it's sold, there is no second one.
Yes, simply choose “Pendant only”. With the chain, you get a fine Venetian chain in 14K gold-filled that matches the gold wire, in 45 cm (17.7 in) or 40 cm (15.7 in).
The chain is water-resistant, but the pyrite itself doesn't like moisture. Take the necklace off before showering, swimming and sports, and dry it right away if it does get wet. That way, its shine lasts for a long time.

I chose this pyrite cube for its crisp edges and deep grooves and wrapped it by hand with gold-filled wire in my studio in Oberhausen.
